Abstract: Objective This study thought to understand the Peking University People’s Hospital clinical tutors’ recognition of teaching objective. Methods In 2014,105 clinical tutors working in Peking University People’s Hospital were involved in the survey, they were grouped into two cohorts,59 surgeons and 46 physicians. Teaching objective test and questionnaire survey were conducted by face-to-face or telephone interview, and data collection and analysis was made with SPSS 19.0. Results In the group of surgeons,22 (22/59,37.3%) tutors’ teaching objective score was less than 60,and 8/46 (7.4%) in the group of physicians. There was significant difference between the two groups on the dimension of teaching hours (Z=2.69, P=0.01),number of students (Z=2.53,P=0.02) and teaching objective test score (F=8.77, P=0.02). The research also found positive correlation between the teaching objective test score and the tutors’ teaching experience (r=0.46, P<0.001),professional title (r=0.45,P<0.001),teaching evaluation (r=0.39,P<0.001),tutors’ age (r=0.47,P<0.001);A weak negative correlation between the teaching objective test score and surgeon tutors (r=-0.22,P=0.03);And no correlation between the teaching objective test score and the tutors’ academic diplomas (r=0.15,P=0.13). Conclusions The teaching objective test score score may be affected by the tutors’ teaching experience, professional title, teaching evaluation, tutors’ age and surgeon tutors.
