Practice and reflection on pain medicine education

Abstract: Pain medicine is a newly developing scientific field that integrated diverse medical knowledge. There is no consolidated scientific program on pain medicine education. The professional program of pain education in Tufts University will provide informative example in the same field of China. Since 2011, Institute for Biomedical Sciences of Pain in Tangdu Hospital has started an elective pain curriculum neurobiology of pain medicine for undergraduate in Fourth Military Medical University. The professional team consists of the faculties from Department of Neuroscience, Department of Anesthesiology and Department of Pain Clinic. This research got some ideas on the goal, content, training method, implementation and learning outcome on pain medicine education, hoping to be a valuable reference for peer groups.
