Situation and countermeasures of continuing medical education for general practitioners in China

Abstract: General practitioners, who serve as “gatekeepers” of residents health, provide primary health care in community. Continuing medical education is an important means to improve the comprehensive quality of general practitioners. The article briefly analyzes the situation of continuing medical education for general practitioners in China, discusses existing problems, and puts forward several countermeasures.
