Abstract: Objective To explore effect of reading report meeting on improving capability of clinical scientific research in standardized training of pediatrics residents. Methods The questionnaire survey of capability of medical scientific research before and after reading report meeting were conducted among 22 pediatrics residents. Capability of clinical scientific research includes searching literatures, reading and analyzing papers, professional English, making power point as well as language expression. The effect of reading report meeting was also explored. Data were analyzed using mean, proportion for description and the results in capability of research on two different times were used Wilcoxon rank sum test. Results Compared with the first reading report meeting, the capability of research including searching literatures, reading and analyzing papers, professional English, making power point as well as language expression were improved after 24 months training (P<0.05). Interest in learning(100.0%), capacity of independent thinking (90.0%) and active exploration (68.2%) in standardized training of pediatrics residents were improved by reading report meeting. Conclusions The reading report meeting is proved to be one of the most feasible and effective method in improving capability of clinical scientific research in standardized training of pediatrics residents.
