Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of Deming cycle method to improve the ability of the nurse to identify arrhythmia.Methods Taking 150 nurses in Zhejiang Taizhou Hospital as the research object. According to the department,they were divided into experimental group(n=75)and the control group(n=75).In the experimental group,we introduced Deming cycle into the electrocardiogram knowledge and skills training of nurses. In the control group,we took conventional training method .After the training,the theory and operation skills assessment,qualified rate of nursing quality in critical patients and nurse's job satisfaction were used together to evaluate the effect of the training after practice.Results The score of ECG theories and the comprehensive capacity assessment of the electrocardiogram in nurses in observation group were significantly better than in the control group (P＜0.01),The qualification rate of critically ill patients care and nurses' satisfaction of incumbency training in observation group were also better than in the control group,achieving the goals of improving the care quality,and ensuring medical safety.Conclusions The electrocardiogram training for nurses with Deming cycle had the advantage of convenience, high efficiency and continuous improvement. The abilities of comprehensive application of ECG knowledge, observation and specialized nursing level were effectively improved.
