Evaluation and analysis of the continuing medical education system in Brazil

Abstract: The literature method was applied to summarize and analyze the historical evolution, current situation, characteristics and shortcomings of continuing medical education system in Brazil, to understand its historical and current implementation of the continuing medical education system, and to review its characteristics and deficiencies. The result indicate that the continuing medical education system in Brazil have adequate legal protection, complete institutions, plentiful network platform, abundant participation of universities, and flexible and diverse education forms, while its shortcomings exist in poor policy continuity, limited continuing medical education effect, relatively weak practical teaching, incomplete network management function and unfulfilled supervision.
