Abstract: Objective To explore the standardized training needs and its influencing factors among EENT new nurses in Shanghai, and provide a basis for improving the training program. Methods 216 EENT new nurses from 30 hospitals in Shanghai were investigated by using convenience sampling method. A survey questionnaire was designed based on the Goldstein model. T-test, ANOVA, and multivariate linear regression were used. Results The total score was (215.19±41.61) for standardized training needs, with the highest demand for knowledge dimension (39.34±8.12), followed by ability dimension (82.40±16.68), and the lowest demand for skill dimension (93.45±19.30). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that whether EENT new nurses have studied relevant knowledge(β=0.141, P=0.040)and whether they have participated in general hospital standardized training(β=-0.174, P=0.012) were the influencing factors. Conclusions EENT new nurses have a high demand for standardized training. It is recommended to consider various elements, such as learning experience of new nurses, the status quo of teaching faculty, and then to refine the training program for EENT new nurses.
