Analysis on the hotspots and trends of researches on education of international medical students in China

Abstract: Objective To analyze the hotspots and trends of researches on education of international medical students in China. Methods Using CiteSpace software to analyze the 1 629 literatures on education of international medical students in CNKI, Wangfang and Weipu database from 2003 to 2022. Results The research topics in the field of education of iinternational medical students cover seven categories as teaching reform, teaching quality, education management, clinical teaching, bilingual teaching, online teaching, humanities education. Emergent topics include online teaching, flipped classroom, the Belt and Road Initiative, etc. Conclusions From 2003 to 2022, the number of published papers in the field of education of international medical students shows an overall upward trend. The researches on education of international medical students in China has gradually increased, and attracts more scholarly attention. The related research mostly focuses on specific teaching practices and falls short of a systematic and macroscopic perspective.
