Abstract: Objective To analyze the current situation of curricular political and virtuous awareness research on higher medical curricula in Chinese, point out the direction for the future studies. Methods To apply bibliometrics to make a quantitative analysis of the annual number of documents, the units and authors of the papers, and key words on China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Data, VIP Database for Chinese Technical Periodicals. Results A total of 1 739 eligible documents were included. The top 10 papers were all from universities; 28 high-frequency keywords are generated. There are many basic courses in a specific curricula research (n=1 026), accounting for 752(73.3%). Clinical courses account for only 274(26.7%). Chinese medicine courses are relatively small, accounting for 312(30.4%). "Moral education" and "curriculum education" are the latest research frontiers. The latest research has the gradual transition from empirical research of a certain course to systematic research, and the research content is gradually refined. Conclusions The curricular political and virtuous awareness research on higher medical curricula is fruitful, focusing on hot spots. Most of the subjects of research are basic curricula, but few are clinical curricula. There are relatively few studies on TCM curricula, and the characteristics are not obvious. It is suggested to build a relevant research community, and improve the teaching effect.
