Abstract: Objective The scientific research status and their feedback on school teaching of eight-year clinical medicine specialty was investigated to provide theory basis for improving the scientific research ability of eight-year clinical medicine graduates. Methods From December 2019 to January 2020, 413 undergraduates of the eight-year curriculum of grade 2004 to grade 2011 in Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University were selected as the research subjects. Questionnaires were used to investigate the general information, the current achievements in scientific research and the feedback on school teaching of the research objects. Results A total of 26.0% (98/377) of the graduates received project funding after graduation, and 67.6% (75/111) of the graduates in the standardized training stage had published one or more SCI papers. Among graduates who had graduated from standardized training stage, the proportion rose to 76.7%(204/266). However, according to the feedback of the 76.0%(314/413) graduates, it is still necessary to further strengthen the training of scientific research capacity in school. Conclusions At present, the eight-year medical graduates have good scientific research ability, but the graduates still need to cultivate the scientific research ability in college.
