Exploration on teaching reform of medical immunology course

Abstract: Consolidation of basic science and clinical medicine is a trend in medical education reformation. In the first semester of the 2019-2020 academic year, the teaching reform program of medical immunology was implemented among 2016 grade of eight-year curriculum undergraduates clinical medical students in Medical College of Sun Yat-sen University. The faculty from immunology department and their colleagues from surgery department in hospital were organized as a trans-sector team and implemented the education with cross-discipline performance. Examination and questionnaire survey were carried out after class to evaluate the learning outcomes. The results showed that 87.5%(70/80)of students were qualified, and 90.0% (72/80) of the students were interested in studying medical immunology. The teaching reform scheme of medical immunology course is beneficial to students' understanding and mastering of basic knowledge, which is highly praised by students and improves the teaching effect of medical immunology course.
