Reflections on the reform and development of academic degree construction of integrated traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine

Abstract: Integration of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine play an important role in the prevention and control of COVID-19 Epidemic. By reviewing the history of 12 iterations of doctoral and master degree authorizations from 1981 to 2017, this paper analyses the development and changes of degree authorization of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine in China. From the perspective of medical education responding to the needs of social development, it is suggested that great importance should be attached to the construction of curriculum system and degree authorization in the field of integrated Traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine disciplines. The efforts should be made to meet the national strategic needs, reform the examination system of degree authorization and strengthen discipline construction.
