Abstract: Objective Systematic and panoramic comb of relevant literature in the field of epidemiological curriculum teaching reform in China, analyzing and showing the literature distribution and research topics of epidemiological teaching in China since 1989, and provide reference for the cultivation of high-quality medical personnel. Methods Bibliometric software was used for analysis, including the annual publication level, fund support and journal distribution of relevant papers in the field of epidemiology teaching from 1989 to 2022 in China national knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang data knowledge service platform and VIP Chinese science and technology journal database, including the visual analysis of keywords. Results Overall, a total of 525 articles, obtained from 178 journals, were related to the teaching reform of epidemiology. The average number of publications is 1 from 1989 to 2000, 12 from 2001 to 2010, and 31 from 2011 to 2022, respectively. Of the 525 papers, 291(55.4%) were funded, 237(45.1%) reviews and 169(32.2%) effect evaluations. The keywords analysis reflected three research themes, which were mainly included objects, contents and methods in epidemiology. Conclusions The number of papers average published has increased in recent years, but research quality needs to be improved. The teaching reform mainly focuses on improving students′ enthusiasm and cultivating their practical ability.
