Abstract: Objective To understand the current employment situation of master of Public health graduates and provide reference for relevant decision-making. Methods The data of master of Public health graduate students in the“National Medical Graduate Education Satisfaction Survey” in 2022 were selected for analysis, involving 932 graduate students from 56 universities. Descriptive analysis, χ2 test and Kruskal-Wallis rank sum test were used to compare the differences of work units, positions and salaries among graduate students with different characteristics, and ordered Logistic regression was used to explore the influencing factors of starting salary. Results Methods Of the 932 graduates, 688 have been employed, with an employment rate of 73.8%. Among the employed graduates, the proportion of working unit type CDC 232[(38.5%)] was the highest, and that of government agency [16(2.5%)] was the lowest. Professional and technical positions [350(58.3%)] accounted for the highest proportion, and teaching positions [19(3.2%)] accounted for the lowest proportion. 233 people with salaries between 2 001 and 5 000 yuan, accounting for the highest (38.8%), and 23 people with salaries below 2 000 yuan, accounting for the lowest (4.0%). There was a statistically significant difference in the destination of graduate students in differentuniversities and regions (χ2=9.86, P<0.05). The probability of graduate students in western universities directly joining the work force after graduation was higher [201(70.3%)], and that of graduate students in eastern universities was higher [119(9.7%)]. There were significant differences in the salaries of graduates in different university regions, working units and positions (all P<0.05). The salaries of graduates in eastern region, enterprises and scientific research positions were higher, and the differences in the starting salaries of graduates in different university regions were statistically significant (H=22.71, P<0.001), and the starting salaries of graduates in eastern region were higher. Conclusions The employment rate of graduates of Master of Public health is relatively low, and the employment units are mainly CDC and hospitals. They are engaged in professional and technical posts with relatively low salary. It is suggested that relevant measures should be taken to promote the employment of graduates of Master of public health.
