Abstract: Objective To compare the teaching effect and satisfaction between 5G remote interactive visual critical ultrasound online training and traditional offline training. Methods A total of 100 trainees who participated in critical ultrasound training organized by Peking University People's Hospital from May 2022 to February 2023 enrolled in the study. Fifty trainees allocated as study group were trained using a 5G remote interactive visual simulation and practical ultrasound system, while the other 50 trainees allocated as control group were trained using offline training. The total score of critical ultrasound for all trainees before and after training was compared. The assessment results after training, as well as their satisfaction with their respective training methods were compared between the two groups. Statistical analysis adopted χ2-test and t-test. Results The total score of all trainees after training was higher than before training [(86.2±7.3) points vs. (41.9±11.6) points, P<0.001]. The total scores of the study group and the control group after training were (86.9±7.8) points and (85.6±6.8) points, respectively; The satisfaction scores for their respective training methods were (42.5±2.5) points and (42.4±3.4) points (both P>0.05). Conclusions The effectiveness of 5G remote interactive visual critical ultrasound online training is comparable to traditional offline training, with high student satisfaction. This can inform the selection of critical ultrasound training methods.
