Abstract: Simulation-based medical education (SBME) is a learner-centered teaching format, which provides learners a safe psychological environment by simulating real clinical scenes and applying high-fidelity simulators. In order to strengthen the authenticity of the simulated environment, many types of simulators are applied in the pediatric clinical education. Effective use of SBME in pediatrics requires paying attention to some educational principles, including curriculum integration, deliberate practice, debriefing, mastery learning, and ranking barriers.
