Abstract: The important way to promote the transformation and development of pharmaceutical education is to build a new “patient-centered” pharmaceutical talent cultivation system and to strengthen the training of pharmacists to serve Healthy China strategy. It is necessary to reverse the long-term orientation of pharmaceutical education that focuses on “drugs” rather than “patients” by designing the top-level model. The theme of “understanding medicine & mastering pharmacy and close combination of medicine and pharmacy” should run through pharmacist talent training, and the practice teaching system of “two main lines and three stages” should be established, as well as realizing the optimal connection of the chains among education, talent and health. In addition, the quality of pharmacist-oriented talent training can be ensured by establishing national standards, promoting professional certification, playing the role of connecting all parties, enhancing public awareness, building domestic and foreign cooperation platforms, and establishing an open system.
