Approach to the intervening education on psychological health status of nursing students before practice

Abstract: Objective To explore the practical effects of intervention education on improving the mental health status of nursing students before practice.Methods All 216 nursing undergraduates of grade 2012 were selected and divided into experimental group and control group according to the class, 110 and 106 per group respectively. To investigate the anxiety, depression and psychological pressure of the nursing students one months before practice by questionnaire, and carry out the intervention education to experimental group for one month according to the sources of psychological pressure of nursing students. And to comparative analysis the influence effect of intervention education on psychological health status of nursing students before practice.Results The psychological health status of nursing students were poorer than the non-practice. Compared with the control group, the mental health status of nursing students in the intervention group were significantly improved (t=4.841, P<0.01), which had obvious statistical significance.Conclusions The mental health of nursing undergraduates is not good before practice, they had great psychological pressures. The intervention education was helpful to improve the mental health of nursing students. Nursing educators should pay attention to the psychological health of nursing students before practice, and actively explore the countermeasures to improve the health of nursing students.
