Abstract: Objective To explore and evaluate the teaching effect of the 3D printing technology applied for the PBL model in cardiac surgery clinical teaching. Methods 100 clinical medicine students of eight-year program of grade 2011was as the test group, and 100 clinical medicine students of eight-year program of grade 2010was as the control group. In test group, we introducedthe 3D printing technology to the PBL model in cardiac surgery clinical teaching. The traditional teaching aidswere applied for PBL model in control group. After the course, the teaching effect was evaluated by examination and questionnaire. Results Through the 3D printing technology teaching aids, the students adapted to clinical practice and training more quickly, mastered the key learning points and methods better than them in control group (P<0.05).Conclusions 3D printing technology applied for the PBL model is a promising method in cardiac surgery clinical teaching.
