Visual analysis of research hotspots of master of nursing specialist education in China

Abstract: Objective To understand the current status of research in master of nursing specialist education in China, analyze the research hotspots, and provide guidance for deepening the reform of education research. Methods CiteSpace software was used to visually analyze 521 articles on master of nursing specialist education in CNKI, Wangfang and Weipu database from 2012 to 2021. Results (1) The number of articles published on master of nursing specialist education was at a low level, and the issuing institutions are mainly medical colleges and universities, with little cooperation among institutions and no core authority established; (2) Research hotspots were training mode, clinical practice and core competence, as well as the combined training of professional postgraduate students and specialist nurses. Conclusions The education of master of nursing specialist started late in China, and the educational research needs to be further strengthened. Training mode, clinical practice, core competence and integration with specialist nurses have been the research hotspots of master of nursing specialist education in recent ten years, which needs further exploration in the future.
