Abstract: Objective To explore the training effects of Integration teaching model for extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO). Methods In February 2020, 37 novice medical staff from the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University were trained in ECMO course for 3 days in batches, and the teaching results were evaluated by the written test for the didactic course and the questionnaire for the practical course. Results All trainees passed the didactic course. After the 3-day training programme, 91.9% (34/37) of them thought that they invested more in active learning during the whole course; 59.5% (22/37) of them achieved a good level of technical evaluation. On the other hand, 67.6% (25/37) of the trainees have shown a good self-confidence in the priming course; however, 43.2% (16/27) of the trainees believe that they still need to strengthen their occupational competence in ECMO management. Conclusions The integration of traditional teaching and high fidelity simulation teaching can effectively improve the ECMO monitoring level and management skills of novice medical staff, but whether this training mode can be successfully transferred to the clinical field needs further research and confirmation.
