Visual analysis on standardized traditional Chinese medicine residency training research

Abstract: Objective To analyze current situation of standardized traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) residency training research, and inform later research. Methods CiteSpace was used to visually analyze literatures relating to standardized TCM residency training in China National Knowledge Infrastructure, VIP Database for Chinese Technical Periodicals, Wanfang Data from 1998 to 2022. Results A total of 21 articles were published from 1998 to 2013, mainly involving the construction of training systems; another 510 were published from 2014 to 2022, mainly involving comprehensive exploration of training mode. The authors and institutions were decentralized and there was no apparent sign of cooperation. The high frequency key words are “TCM”, “residency” and other 10 categories. The burst key words of recent articles are “clinical skill”, “practice”, etc. Conclusions The construction of training system and the exploration of training mode are two stages of standardized TCM residency training research. The research strength is inadequate; the research topics are dispersed. Research hotspots have gradually focused on training of clinical skills of TCM in recent years.
