The curriculum reform of interdisciplinary biomedical graduate program at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and it's inspirations

Abstract: The reform background, design principle, content, and teaching method of interdisciplinary biomedical doctor program were introduced in this paper. The curriculum characteristic including systematic integration of core content, emphasis the cultivation of core ability of scientific research, flexible adoption of different teaching method, implement strict PhD qualification exam and other components, were analyzed. Based on above content, the reform proposals such as clear training goal, systematic design the curriculum content, breaking the course barrier, systematic integration of curriculum content, emphasis the ability of scientific research, establishment of technical curriculum, strengthen the training of teaching assistant, enhance teaching skill and so on, were recommended to graduate education in China.
