Abstract: To understand the current situation and problems of the textbooks for Chinese medicine basic courses in colleges and universities of traditional Chinese medicine, and to provide some reference for the improvement and development of Chinese medicine education, related research articles since 2001 were collected and analysed. As the results, there are three main aspects of current research progress: the research of textbook content, the research of the design of textbook structure, the research of the orientation of textbook and textbook system. Among them, there are many studies related to textbook content, and the study content is also rich. But the research on the design of textbook structure, orientation and textbook system is limited and weak. As for each course, there are more studies on the textbooks of Foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Diagnostics of Traditional Chinese Medicine, while less on the textbooks of Chinese Medicine and Formula of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
