Current situation and enlightenment of global medical education accreditation

Abstract: Medical education accreditation plays an important role in ensuring and improving the quality of medical education. WFME, United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, and South Korea have established a relatively perfect medical education accreditation system. Reviewing the establishment and development of those education accreditation system can provide valuable reference to improve medical education accreditation in China. By analyzing the process and current situation of WFME and other countries' medical education accreditation system, this paper tries to draw some lessons for the construction of Chinese education accreditation system, such as improve the effectiveness of education certification, increase the participation of students in certification, and expand the scope of certification.
