Characterization and revelation on the master program of business administration (MBA) of healthcare management in the University of Illinois at Chicago

Abstract: Development of national healthcare industry needs to bring up trans-disciplinary healthcare management talents with international visions. In line with this demand, Health Human Resources Development Centre (HHRDC) of National Health Commission (NHC) of China and the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) have signed a cooperation framework agreement to explore the cultivation of such talents, and UIC has offeredan one-year program of graduate education for master degree of business administration in healthcare management to nourish Chinese medical and pharmaceutical practitioners. This article reviewed the characteristics of this graduate training system, including learning objective, training process, curriculum settings, teaching methods, evaluation system and employment linking up, which may provide a positive reference for the graduate education in China.
