The curriculum system on physicians' professionalism of Chiba University in Japan

Abstract: Japan gradually developed a curriculum system in physicians' professionalism training, whose successful experience may be valuable for China.This study summarized the goal and curriculum “Physicians' Professionalism” training from the “Model Core Curriculum for Medical Education”, launched by Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Taking the Chiba University as an example, the authors introduces 4 modules of the professionalism curriculum, 36 items in 6 domains of competencies for graduates, and concludes the 6 characteristics of the medical professionalism curriculum, which is a potential reference for the curriculum development of medical professionalism in China. Moreover, the authors introduced and analyzed the characteristics and strengthen of the curriculum system on professionalism comprehensively, which may be a reference for the cultivation of physicians' professionalism in China.
