Research progress of milestones in competency-based medical education

Abstract: In the process of the development of medical education,the proposal of milestones makes the competency-based medical education implemented and developed.Therefore,the application of milestone in medical education is gradually emphasized.This study firstly systematically described the concept and relationship between competency-based medical education and milestones,and then described the development process of competency milestones in the United States,Canada,Chinese Taiwan and Chinese Mainland.The existing research condition and the gaps were summarized,thus laying a theoretical foundation for the relevant research on milestone standards in competency-based medical education.
