Abstract: Objectives To evaluate the competency of residents after the standardization training (here after referred to as trainees) in order to provide a reference for further improvement of the residency training. Methods A questionnaire survey of competency was conducted among 80 trainees who completed their residency training at The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine in 2017 and 2018 and 71 of supervising physicians in December 2020. Mann-Whitney U test was used to analyze the data collected. Results The lower self-assessment competency score by trainees was the capacity of lifelong　learning [8.00(1.00)], research and innovation [8.00(3.00)], teaching [8.00(2.00)]. The lower score of trainee competency by supervising physicians was the capacity of research and innovation [9.00(2.00)], teaching [9.00(2.00)]. Conclusions Both trainees and their supervising physicians reached the agreement that the trainees' training in the capacity of research and innovation, teaching was weak and should be strengthened in the future.
