New understanding and practice of clinical medicine teaching by ward round

Abstract: Clinical teaching through ward round is a traditional training of clinical medicine with long history and unique characteristics. In recent years, with the acceleration of social rhythm, the popularization of health examination, the arrival of auxiliary examination at the first time, the improved patients' awareness of rights protection, and the update of teaching concept, form and technology, word round teaching is facing challenges. Therefore, the authors put forward three principles of teaching ward round in the new era: (1)the basic goal is to improve the post-competency; (2)various teaching forms can be applied comprehensively; (3)the whole process of diagnosis and treatment of patients should be covered as much as possible. Under this guidance, they carried out a new form of teaching word rounds aimed at improving the trainees' post-competence.
