Application of CT virtual endoscope technique on clinical teaching of lung diseases

Abstract: Objective To discuss and illustrate the meaning and feasibility of CT virtual endoscope technique on Clinical Teaching of lung diseases.Methods Forty residencies who were in the Department of Thoracic Surgery of Xuanwu Hospital from Jan 2015 to Dec 2016 were randomly divided into 2 groups. The experimental group used conventional teaching methods on lung diseases and combined CT virtual endoscope technique. While the contrast group was only provided conventional teaching methods. Both groups had the test completion course and the feedback of the completion course questionnaire about the location and the characteristic of the lesions.Results The experimental group presented apparent advantage in the result of the tests with statistical differences. Meanwhile, the questionnaire presented that the result of the experimental group was much higher than the contrast group in learning interests, theory with practical ability, clinical thinking ability and other aspects.Conclusions CT virtual endoscope provides the accurate and comprehensive images information in the teaching of the department of thoracic surgery, enlarges the clinical thinking ability of the medical students. It has great application value in improving diagnostic capacity, learning interests, and other aspects of medical students.
