Investigation of the status and influencing factors of identification on nursing students among gynecological patients

Abstract: Objective To explore the status and influencing factors of identification on nursing students among gynecological patients.Methods Questionnaire which was self-designed were utilized to collect data from 284 patients in Gynecology Department, West China Second University Hospital.Results The score of identification of patients was above the average(4.08±0.42).Specifically, subscale of cognition obtained the highest average score (4.32±0.81)and subscale of trust obtained the lowest average score (3.82±0.51). Single factor analysis showed that different age, diagnose, educational level, income, career of nurses would lead to different identification on nursing students ,the results have statistical significance (P<0.05).The results of multiple regression revealed that different age, diagnose and educational level were related factors of identification on nursing students among gynecological patients (P<0.05).Conclusions In order to improve the trust level of patients, it is very important for nursing teacher to strengthen the skill training and nurse-patient communication training on nursing students, and also to have positive communication with patients according to their individual differences at the aspects of age, career and income.
