In-depth analysis and implementation strategies of the fourth generation medical education

Abstract: The fourth-generation medical education, accompanying the new technological revolution, triggers a paradigm shift in medical education. This article reviews the development process of three generations of medical education reform, analyzes the connotations and characteristics of the fourth-generation medical education which is centered on health, interdisciplinary, integrated, and empowered by artificial intelligence. It suggests that facing the fourth-generation medical education, medical educators should actively respond to changes, reconstruct the mechanisms and models of medical education, adjust curricula, update course content, improve evaluation methods, and positively accept and embrace the fourth-generation medical education both in mindset and action. The aim is to establish a new paradigm for medical education under the backdrop of the new technological revolution and cultivate high-quality talents competent for the Healthy China strategy.
