Application of objective structured clinical examination in standardized training of ultrasound residents

Abstract: Ultrasound medicine has become an independent training specialty, which is conducive to the training of residents with standardized and homogeneous outcomes. The Department of Ultrasound of Peking Union Medical College Hospital had applied Objective structured clinical examinations to the assessment during the standardized training of residents. This article summarized the characteristics of the examination modification, and put forward some suggestions such as increasing the examination station for other medical imaging cases, improving the medical humanities examination method, refining the scoring index, and improving the multi-dimensional feedback after the examination, so as to establish an effective, comprehensive, accurate and fair evaluation mode and to optimize the training management and training outcomes, and enhance the competence of ultrasound trainers' team.
