The application of situational simulation in the training of aseptic technique for medical students

Abstract: Objective To discuss the application of situational simulation in the training of aseptic technique for medical students. Methods Totally 255 interns who were clinical medicine in Henan Medical Technical College wereselected. 120 interns from grade 2014 who accepted the traditional training as the control group; 135 interns from grade 2015 who accepted the situational simulation training as the experimental group. The Kirkpatrick model was used to assess the effects of the training. Results The scores of the four levels of Kirkpatrick model including reaction, learning and behavior in the experimental group were all significantly higher than those of the control group,and there were statistical difference (P<0.05). Conclusions The training of aseptic technique by using situational simulation to medical interns is helpful to improve the learning effects, to strengthen the aseptic concept and to make the aseptic behaviors be more standard.
