Abstract: Experiment classes are an important part of the curriculum for basic sciences. How to make full use of modern science and technology, to overcome the shortcomings of traditional teaching mode, and to establish a new virtual simulation experiment platform has become a common interests among medical educators. Augmented reality (AR) technology can create a virtual scenario that integrates with reality, generate a teaching model that integrates vision, sound and touch, transform traditional teaching methods, realize personalized teaching and visual operation, and provide a possible way to improve the effect of practical teaching in basic medical sciences. This paper starts with the characteristics of experiment classes for basic medical sciences and the application of virtual reality technology, then explores the current application of AR technology in basic medical practical training, summarizes the advantages and bottleneck of the use of AR technology in experiment classes for basic medical sciences, and the prospect of future application.
