The application of SimMom human analogue in obstetrics clinical practice teaching

Abstract: Objective To explore the role of SimMom simulation education in the hospital teaching of five-year medical students of obstetrics. Methods A total of 82 students were divided into two groups randomlythe control group including 40 students was trained traditional clinical skilland SimMom teaching group was trained by simulation with 42 cases given the same content of clinical skills training. After the training finishedthe clinical skills training effect of the two groups was evaluated by teaching questionnaire and objective structured clinical examination. Results SimMom teaching group had more feedback in analysis and problem-solving abilityobstetric learning contentclinical thinking and operation abilityteam cooperation ability. The result was superior to the traditional teaching group. The scores of SimMom teaching group in prenatal examinationobstetric skills and obstetric surgical procedures are obviously higher than that of traditional teaching group. Conclusions SimMom simulated teaching method can stimulate the medical students’ learning interestand it is helpful for clinical skill training in obstetrics. Thereforeit is a useful supplement to clinical practice teaching in obstetrics.
