Abstract: Objective To apply and evaluate a series of nursing workshops in fundamental nursing course for undergraduate students. Methods Selected 87 undergraduates of nursing profession as the research sample in Army Medical University. Grade 2012 nursing undergraduates (n=38), as experimental group, performed the reformed teaching plan with six nursing workshops. Grade 2010 nursing undergraduates (n=49), as control group, performed the pre-reformed teaching plan and method. Results After the implementation of the teaching plan, the final scores (86.0±5.15) and the excellent and good rates (49.5%) of the experimental group students were higher than those of the control group, but no significant differences (P>0.05). The satisfaction score with the teaching method in the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions The teaching reform of a series of nursing workshops in fundamental nursing course received the high satisfaction feedback from undergraduates. Through this experimental project, we believed that the workshops teaching may be popularized and applied in fundamental nursing course.
