Abstract: Objective To explore the application effect of the multi-view recording system in evaluating students' technical skills in the fundamental of nursing course. Methods Ninety nursing undergraduates and twenty-eight nursing clinical instructors from a top nursing school in Sichuan Province were enrolled. When students' technical skills were evaluated, the multi-view recording system was applied to help the students to record their operation videos and the nursing teachers were allowed to evaluate students' technical skills online. After the examination they were investigated with a self-developed questionnaire. Results Nursing students and teachers on the evaluation of the multi-view recording system were positive, most of them would rather use the multi-view recording system for operational examination than the traditional exams. There were statistical differences between nursing students and teachers on the followed items “Willing to improve operational skills through various means”, “The system can increase the fairness of the examination”, “The system can saves more time than traditional exam”(all P<0.05), and there was no significant difference on the other items. Conclusions Application of the multi-view recording system in evaluating students' technical skills can save human resources and use less time and also, reduce the anxiety of nursing students during the examination.
