Abstract: The paper has thoroughly illustrated the definition, content and significance of multi-source assessment and feedback (MSAF) and introduced with emphasis its application to standardized resident training. Based on the concept of “six core abilities” raised by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education, this paper analyzed in detail the strategies, procedures, precautions and limits of MSAF employed and incorporated into standardized resident training system. Meanwhile, it has been suggested that well-designed, scientifically administered MSAF with closed-loop feedback would enhance its result validity and maximize its value.
