Death education in medical schools of the United States and its implications

Abstract: With the development of social economy and the progress of medical technology, medical workers are facing more and more death and dying situations, so death education in medical colleges is becoming more and more important. This paper focuses on the origin of death education in the United States, reviews the development process of death education in medical colleges, and introduces its teaching method and learning outcomes. The development of death education in American medical colleges is promoted by mass media, academic research and social development, which enlightens us to promote the development of death education in Chinese medical colleges by giving full play to the role of mass media, promotion of medical education reform and support of academic research.
