A study of the characteristics of learning burnout of clinical medical students in clinical noviciate of general surgery

Abstract: Objective To investigate the learning burnout and related influencing factors of clinical medical students in clinical noviciate of surgery. Methods A total of 323 medical students in clinical noviciate of general surgery of the first affiliated hospital of Chongqing Medical University were selected as the research subjects. A questionnaire survey was conducted using general situation questionnaire and college students’ learning burnout inventory. Results The total score of learning burnout inventory of medical students was (15.52±0.29), which was at a medium level. The academic system, academic achievements, favorite school in the college entrance examination, and the school affection have a close relationship with the learning burnout dimensions. Conclusions During clinical noviciate of general surgery, many factors could influence learning burnout of clinical medical students. It needs to take effective measures to reduce their study burnout according to the teaching features of clinical noviciate in general surgery and different demographic characteristics of the students.
