Introduction and reference of general practice residency (GPR) program based on school of dentistry, University of Washington in the United States

Abstract

Abstract: Standardized residency training is very important for dental students. General dentists are the principal part of oral health care. Standardized residency training should aim at cultivating general dentists. After more than one hundred years of development,the residency training in the United States has grown to be a systematic,standardized and scientific system,which can be learned by others. This article completely introduces the application and selection,training goals,training contents and requirements of the general practice residency (GPR) program based on School of Dentistry,University of Washington. The authors hope that this can stimulate some new thoughts and ideas for the reform and development of dental residency training programs in China.
