Medical experiment teaching model of medical school in University of California, Los Angeles in the United States and its reference to medical physiological experiment teaching in China

Abstract

The author learned about the characteristics of medical experimental teaching through a six-month observation of David Geffen Medical College at the University of California, Los Angeles in the United States. Notably, the functional experiment courses set up by David Geffen Medical College of the University of California, Los Angeles focus on human body experiments, and emphasize a combination of medical basis and clinical practice, as well as group discussions. These measures are conducive to the cultivation of students' critical thinking and innovation ability. Meanwhile, the problems existing in the physiological experimental course have been pointed out in some medical school in our country, such as the lack of experimental design of human physiology, and the lack of cultivation of innovative thinking of medical students, and reform of physiological experimental course has been given.
