Abstract

Objective To apply lecture-based learning and Workshop teaching model to digital dentistry graduate student course in a preliminary attempt, to explore a new teaching model combining with lecture-based learning (LBL) and Workshop, and to evaluate the feasibility and effect of the new teaching model.Methods Class 2014 stomatology,23 graduate students in Peking University School of Stomatology were involved in this study. All the students accepted a combined teaching method of LBL+ Workshop, two questionnaires were given to each student respectively after theory lesson and workshop practice lesson. A self-control study was carried out to evaluate the teaching effect, and a satisfaction survey was implemented after the whole course.Results Comparing with single LBL teaching method, LBL+ Workshop teaching model had better teaching effect in digital dentistry course with enhanced learning interests and motivation. Result of self-control study show that teaching effect of the new model has increased significantly, the students' satisfaction of the new model is better, the improvement of low-seniority students is more obviously.Conclusions The new integrated teaching model that combined with LBL and Workshop could obtain better effect than traditional LBL teaching method in digital dentistry graduate student course.This teaching model can be tried to undergraduate teaching.
