Abstract

In order to promote the comprehensive quality of inter-disciplinary talents in the field of public health and to ensure a high-quality talent pool for infectious disease prevention and control, the School of Public Health of Sun Yat-sen University has developed a new course "Introduction to Infectious Disease Dynamics Transmission Model" for all master and doctoral students since May 2022. This course was delivered in the form of a combination of theoretical lectures and practical applications, which was a practical exploration in the form of an elective course to develop postgraduates' mathematical modelling skills in infectious diseases from an applied perspective. The teaching effect was good, the overall satisfaction was high. This manuscript introduces the design, implementation, and teaching effectiveness of this course, aiming to inform the construction of the infectious disease dynamics transmission model course.
