Abstract

Objective To investigate how We Media helps medical professionals with their continuing medical education and provides a new way of continuing medical education for medical professionals. Methods Conducted a questionnaire survey on the WeChat Public Account of Medical Reference Pain Channel and learned about the readers’ demographic profile, reading preferences and reading hobbies. Results Of all the 786 readers participated in the survey, pain physicians accounted for the largest, followed by readers of other clinical departments and anesthesiologists, basic medicine researchers are the least. WeChat Public Accounts, together with medicine websites and medical meetings, are the three favorite ways of learning about medical information for our readers. The three most popular topics of literature reports are new technology and management, case reports and guidelines. Conclusions We Media has the advantages of flexible contents and forms, less time and space limitations, easiness to form study communities, which makes it possible for“any time, any where learning”. We Media may provide a new platform of learning and developing for medical professionals and a new way of continuing education for medicine.
