Abstract: Objective To explore effective ways to cultivate the ability of doctor-patient communication of medical students. Methods Students from grade 2009 to grade 2010 of seven-year medical program from Capital Medical University were recruited as subjects. In the teaching activities, the clinical problems were transformed into a series of scenes through clinical scenario training which focused on training pediatric students' skills to face and deal with clinical communication problems. The research included the training case preparation stage and the training implementation stage. Anonymous questionnaires were distributed to the medical students after training program to evaluate the teaching results and the results of grade 2009 and grade 2010 were compared with statistical method. Results The results showed that the training design was reasonable and the students learned what they needed. The differences between the satisfaction of students of the two classes were statistically significant (all P<0.05), and the satisfaction evaluation score of students of grade 2010 were higher than that of grade 2009.Conclusions Through the development of the training program, the satisfaction of students was improved. This practice was based on the combination of clinical problems and scenario simulation with innovation, practicability and generalization, and helped the medical students to improve the ability of communication between doctors and patients.
